This initial study session from our group interaction provided detail on our personal experiences with faith. By focusing on Psalm 23 (verse 1), we came to know Jesus as the Great Shepherd with desperately-needed detail.
Participants shared personal encounters with the Lord–the shepherd–and reflected on the importance of trusting God’s guidance in their lives. The study emphasized the significance of developing a deeper understanding of God’s role as shepherd and encouraged participants to seek His grace and support in all aspects of life.

Journaling Questions
I would LOVE if you would take personal time to journal your responses to these questions. Maybe one per night through the week. After you take time with these questions yourself, invite a friend to discuss with you! Maybe next week you can connect with one of the members from our group discussion!
- “What does it mean to you to call God your ‘Shepherd’? How does this image compare to how you typically see God?”
- “Think about a time when you felt lost or unsure in life. How do you think God was shepherding you during that time?”
- “What does it mean to say ‘I shall not want’? Does this mean we’ll never have problems or struggles?”
- “How do you balance your desires and ambitions with trusting God to provide what you need?”
