Today, New Hope Church started a new easter series entitled, “The Hour Has Come.” Today’s title was “Dine OR Deny: That is the Question!”
We came from Luke 22:14-34 and partook in Holy Communion using this graphic as our backdrop for the message along with Fred Hammond‘s “Communion Song” as our sermon song.
The sermon centered on discipleship and problems that exist at God’s table. Still, there is promise and purpose at the table of Our Lord.
My young adult congregants always invite their mommas to attend. Of course, momma ‘nem wanted to know about the graphic I shared.
Here it is!
During the sermon, I made sure to mention how we question whether to sit at Christ’s table based on “who all gone be there.”
We turn down Christ’s invite to partake in the table based on the caliber/appearance of other guests.
Just Remember…
There was betrayal and denial at the table!
There was fussing and aggression at the table!
There was pride *and* suffering at the table!
But they were still…AT THE TABLE!
