Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way…”
Wandering doesn’t always start with rebellion.
It often starts with Distraction,Self-reliance, Hurt, and Fatigue.
“He turned to his own way.”
-That’s the core issue us choosing our way over God’s way.
-Wandering increases when we disconnect from God’s voice, Community, and Accountability.
- Unhealed wounds → You pull away.
- Delayed promises → You grow impatient.
- Comparison → You follow another voice.
- Isolation → You become vulnerable.
The Shepherd doesn’t abandon wandering sheep he searches for them, protects them and restores them. Jesus stepped in because wandering is human. Wandering may describe the season you’re in but it does not define your identity.
Sheep are easily distracted, not strong fighters, dependent on a shepherd, prone to follow the wrong voice Isaiah isn’t insulting us he’s revealing our need for guidance.
Always pray before decision making, lead with truth and not feelings, surrender from your own ways to his ways, ask God to make his voice distinct and only respond to his voice. Always hold yourself accountable and realize when you’ve drifted away and return back to him.
Ask yourself what hurt made me withdraw? And then pray for that area in your life ask him to heal old wounds and to create in you who his will says you are.
